Berlína a Vratislavi.
Abstract: After the lost First Silesian War in 1742, Austria lost an important part of Silesia and Hlučín became a Prussian town. This settlement lasted until 1920, when the southern part of the Ratibor region based on the decision of the Treaty of Versailles, was attached to the newly formed Czechoslovakian Republic. The book describes mainly two centuries of architecture in Hlučín. The 19th Century architecture was built in neoclassical or historicial styles according to the influences from Berlin or Breslau (mainly represented by the neo-gothic Hannoverian school with red-brick walls or high and steep gable wall). Connecting the Hlučín region to the Czechoslovakian Republic started off a new stage of architecture, in which all the ties to Prussia were lost. The personnel changes were solved not only by engaging architects from Opava or Ostrava but in cases of commissions of higher importance even from Prague and Brno.
