Práce se zabývá vývojem literatury a literárního života na Těšínském Slezsku po roce 1989, přičemž autor práce klade důraz na celistvé, areálové zobrazování veškerých aspektů a tendencí této literatury, tzn. že v objektu autorova bádání se nachází tvorba psaná polsky (na polské straně Těšínského Slezska, a na tzv. "Zaolzí") a zároveň česky. Tento úhel pohledu považuje autor za nesmírně důležitý k pochopení současného vývoje těšínské literatury, kdy střední a mladá generace autorů z Těšínska přichází s novým pohledem na region, jeho dějiny a kulturu, a společným indikátorem většiny literárních projevů a událostí je bezpochyby "otevřenost na multikulturní kořeny regionu".
The present thesis deals with the development of literature and literary life of the Cieszyn/Těšín Silesia after 1989, and the author of the thesis emphasizes compact and areal depicting all aspects and trends of this literature, i.e. that the object of the author´s research includes the works written in Polish (on the Polish side of Cieszyn Silesia, and the region behind the Olza river), and also in Czech. This point of view is considered by the author as extremely important to understanding current developmenst of Těšín literature, when the middle and younger generation of writers from Těšín region comes with a new view of the region, its history and culture, and common indicator of the most literary manifestations and events is undoubtedly the "openness to the multicultural roots of the region".
